English Language and Cultural Exchange Programme Spotlight - Chiba University

On a recent English Language and cultural exchange programme, 15 students from Chiba University in Japan came to UHI Perth for three weeks. We caught up with a few of the students to find out how they got on ๐Ÿ‘‡

Taiyo Kawarai

Can you tell us about some of the activities you have been doing since being in Scotland?

I visited a traditional museum in Glasgow and Edinburgh and went shopping and ate.

What has been your favourite thing that you have done since being here?

I took a bus and saw the magnificent scenery outside. I also took a walk in the dim evening.

Have you enjoyed your time at UHI Perth?

Yes, I have.

Soichiro Hatato

Can you tell us about some of the activities you have been doing since being in Scotland?

In school life, I communicated with people from other countries to improve my English. On holiday, I went to famous places in Scotland and enjoyed the traditional buildings and streets. I also enjoyed new clothes and Scottish specialities and had a great time.

What has been your favourite thing that you have done since being here?

The homestay families were very kind and treated me like family. I was looking forward to going home every day!

Have you enjoyed your time at UHI Perth?

I enjoyed my school life. The teachers were kind and very fulfilling.

What has been your favourite thing that you have done since being here?

Playing pool in Perth, because I met many people and got along with.

Have you enjoyed your time at UHI Perth?

I enjoyed my classes and getting along with my classmates.

Can you tell us about some of the activities you have been doing since being in Scotland?

Sightseeing in Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Dundee.

What has been your favourite thing that you have done since being here?

Relaxing at the park and dinner with my friends on the last day.
