What is your name, and what course are you studying?
My name is Martha Wallace and I’m doing HNC Music Business.
What were you doing before the course, and why did you decide to do it?
Before I heard about this course here in Perth, I was at another college studying Sound Production. Originally, I was going to continue Sound Production at UHI Perth, but the Music Business course is more suited to what I want to do later on in life.
What kind of subjects have you studied so far?
We've done Tour Management, Music Industry and Music Law.
Throughout the term, we do a Music Management course where we have to find a band, manage them, and then release a record.
How have the lecturers supported you on the course?
They are all really helpful. I've never had any issues, and I can easily just go and speak to them if I needed anything.
What have you thought of the learning facilities for your course?
I love the facilities. When I visited with my dad, we literally couldn’t believe how good it was. All of the classrooms are good, and the computers are good - which is a big difference from what I’ve experienced before.
What are your plans after you finish the course?
I really want to become a radio presenter, being on Radio 2 is the dream.
What advice would you give to someone if they're coming to university for the first time?
I think just make sure you have some knowledge before you start, you’ll learn a lot, but it helps having prior knowledge of what you're coming into. And just enjoy yourself, it’s good fun and everyone's really easy going.
