In this week’s blog, we meet a mature student who decided to return to education to expand her knowledge and skillset to improve her career opportunities.
Returning to education does not mean that you have to commit to a full-time course on our campus in Perth. We offer a wide range of courses that can be done on a part-time basis and through distance learning. Our business courses allow you to gain a range of knowledge and understanding that is highly sought-after by employers, including: business fundamentals; marketing; economics; emerging technologies; IT; communication; accounting and management. Almost nearing competition of his HNC, we chatted to Ben to see how has found studying via distance learning.
Are you considering Aviation as a career? ✈️ Our Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and Management degree is the only one of its kind in Scotland and is designed to produce graduate-calibre aircraft maintenance engineers. Now in his final year of the course, Abdalla chatted to us about his experience and shared his hopes for the future.

After returning to education as a mature student, Ailsa has flourished and now is on the path to a career in the music industry. She chatted to us about her time so far.
Our Social and Vocational Studies department is filled with a specialist team of dedicated and qualified professionals, with extensive experience teaching and supporting students who benefit from additional support for their learning. The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) has a requirement for all managers, operation managers, deputy managers, supervisors of care services, and new business residential care supervisors and deputies to have a Care Services Leadership and Management SVQ4 qualification.
